Ron Paul???

Ran into a bunch of Ron Paul supporters yesterday.  The guy wants to kill off the Federal Reserve and the IRS among his other goals to save our nation.  What the fuck is this idiot thinking????  The Federal Reserve is the organization that controls our money.  The IRS funds the entire federal government and much of the states income.  So does he want us to all live on barter, soybeans and roadkill while the rest of the world has cell phones, ham sandwiches and ways to save for the future.  What an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!

The sky is not falling

Ok, I read a blog entry today by someone whom I do admire and respect but he was going on and on about the fall of socialism in Europe and that apparently he thought it would take down the U.S. as well.  Come on folks!  Socialism is not really the primary political force in Europe.  Even it it were true, which I doubt, it takes more than a moment for things to collapse.   

Sorry, but the end of the world has been delayed.  It will get here eventually but we'll all be very dead by that time!  Until then, we'll just keep on keeping on; maybe one leg in the grave like me but....!

Holidays

Every year the holidays come around and people just go nuts!  People drive around like total idiots.  Let someone into traffic, hell no!  You might be 20 seconds late to buy that toy that your kid thinks he needs.  You might not get the exact turkey you want.  And this all seems to start just before Thanksgiving here in the states.  By Christmas it will be scary!  And all that is happening out here in the back-of-beyond.  The city is going to just be worse.  Makes me want to hibernate!

Girl Friend!

I spent my working life in corporate America.  That means I've learned more political correctness than is right for anyone who is actually a thinking human being.  It is honestly difficult to describe some one as other than an asshole when there are so many other terms that might suit better.  I mean I can't even type the terms in this blog!

Anyway, one of my special pet peeves has to do with the term 'girl friend'.  After a female is about 20 in our society (or maybe 14!) it's highly unlikely that they are actually a 'girl' - that is to say virginal.  So what can one say about someone who is nearly 40, in an committed relationship and not married.  Grrrr!  'Girl friend' is clearly wrong, 'significant other' stinks, 'wife' is not right, grrrr again, there just isn't anything!  Maybe I need to create a word.  Fuckpartner - at least that has some truth.   Grrr!

Undress....

We went out for breakfast this a.m.  Now understand that we live in a fairly rural community.  People don't dress up a lot here.  I usually wear jeans and a polo shirt and I'm more dressed up than about 80% of the folks you see.  HOWEVER, here's a guy wearing something that sure looked a lot like pajama bottoms, a sweatshirt and flip-flops.  Jeez, I mean some people have NO standards.

You ever have a song going around in your head for days at a time?  I sure do!  Almost all the time in fact though happily it isn't always the same song. Unhappy?

Why is it that some people are never happy?  I'm not talking about people who have a legitimate problem, I'm talking about the ones who have never had 'a glass half full'.  It's always 'half empty'.  Everyone gets some rain on their parade from time to time but you'd think some people are like the old Peanuts character 'Pigpen' who had his own private cloud following him around.
